Are you planning to place the same object multiple times into the World? This handy tip can save you some time.

Please remember that to add any objects, you first need to load or create a world, load in a group (folder) in the Scene panel and select a layer.

Placing the same object in the world multiple times

  1. Activate a layer (double click on it). It’s name should be now visible in bold.

  2. Go to the Asset Browser (CTRL+A) and select a mesh or entity.

  3. Go back to the Editor’s main window, click on the Viewport (the level preview).

  4. Press the C key to place the selected mesh/entity exactly where the mouse cursor is located.

  5. You can repeat the process in other places without having to go back to the Asset Browser. Just move your cursor elsewhere and press C.

Drag & Drop?

The more traditional approach is to drag & drop your objects from the Asset Browser into the Viewport. This however requires more “mouse work” as you need to go back to the Asset Browser each time to drag your objects. Not a problem for placing something once, but it can get tedious when you need 100 chairs.
